This workshop is tailored to individuals who are new in the field of printer repairing. The workshop provides 
necessary knowledge required to understand basic principles of a printers. This is an introductory workshop
designed to provide and overview of troubleshooting and printer repairing concepts.

TARGET GROUP

The Basic Practical Printer Troubleshooting and Repairing Workshop is targeted at Technical College Students, 
Technicians, Electronic Hobbyists and Computer Owners.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
   · Know the safety precautions when troubleshooting printers.
   · Describe how a printer works.
   · Use computer and printer test print.
   · Identify each section in a printer.
   · Understand the functions in a printer.
   · Identify the error code.
   · Diagnose and begin a simple troubleshooting and repair.
   · Finding parts information and how to obtain them.

   · No prior knowledge required.

   · Use a Monitor Testing Program.
   · Know the safety precautions when troubleshooting monitors.
   · Describe how a monitor works.
   · Read a basic monitor schematic diagram.
   · Identify each section in a monitor.
   · Understand the functions of each section in a monitor.
   · Remove, install and test a Flyback Transformer.
   · Install a Monitor Blur Buster (MBB).
   · Check if colors and sync problems are due to a defective vga signal cable.
   · Perform basic voltage measurement in some critical test points within the monitor circuit.
   · Adjust internal preset (VR) to correct some simple display problem.
   · Diagnose and begin simple troubleshooting and repairing.
   · Prepare to undertake the Advanced Practical Monitor Troubleshooting and Repairing Workshop.

PRE-REQUISITES 

This workshop assumes that the participant has a minimum understanding of the following competencies:
   · Understand basic electronic terms and concepts
   · Identify and measure basic electronic components
   · Basic voltage measurement using multimeters
   · Working knowledge of at least 6 months in electronic repairing field
   · Completed the Introduction to Testing Basic Electronic Components Workshop.
The workshop materials, lectures and lab exercises are in English.

will see how monitor repairing can be challenging, but they will learn how to address these challenges by 
employing appropriate tools and testing equipments to troubleshoot monitors. Through demonstration and hands 
on practices, participants will know how to use the right tools and test equipments to diagnose a monitor. This 
is an advanced workshop designed to provide a full understanding in troubleshooting and repairing monitor .

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
   · Troubleshoot the Power Supply circuit.
   · Troubleshoot High Voltage Circuits.
   · Troubleshoot Horizontal Circuits.
   · Troubleshoot Vertical Circuits.
   · Troubleshoot Video (colour) Circuits.
   · Troubleshoot Cathode Ray Tube (CRT).
   · Troubleshoot Microprocessor and EEprom Circuit.
   · Troubleshoot Monitor Controls.
   · Use an oscilloscope to diagnose and repair monitor problem.
   · Use a Flyback Tester to check the monitor’s flyback, switch mode power transformer, B+ and yoke coil’s 
     winding.
   · Use capanalyser 88A (ESR meter) to check for electrolytic capacitor problem in a monitor.
   · Use high voltage probe for measuring the anode and focus voltage of a Flyback Transformer.
   · Use a Digital Capacitance meter to measure the internal capacitance of a flyback transformer.
   · Use an EEprom Programmer (Copier) to copy EEprom data of a monitor for troubleshooting purposes.
   · Use a CRT tester to check the condition of a picture tube.
   · Read the specification of a picture tube and find an equivalent tube for replacement purposes.
   · Use a light bulb to isolate monitor problem (power supply and B+ circuit problem).
   · Read Horizontal Output Transistor (HOT) and Field Effect Transistor (FET) specification and find a suitable 
     equivalent number.
   · Diagnose and repair most of the monitor problem covering from 9”, 14”, 15”, 17” up to 21” monitors and many more.

PRE-REQUISITES 

   · Working knowledge of at least 1 year in repairs of monitor, TV and CCTV.
   · Completed the Basic Practical Monitor Troubleshooting and Repairing Workshop.

The Flyback Transformer Refurbishing Course is targeted at  IT Engineers, Technicians and Electronic Hobbyists.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
   · Refurbish 14" to 21 " flyback transformer
   · Learn how to repair 17" flyback and above with blurring (focus out) problem.
   · How to use a flyback transformer to made into monitor blur buster
